EVENTS ARE OUR BUSINESSThe Events Commission is a strategic project set up by its partners, Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd Councils together with the Welsh Assembly Government and Tourism Partnership North Wales and supported by the European Objective One funding programme, to assist with the development of the regions events. Support and AdviceBeing strategic in its nature, the Commission will not be operating a financial support package administered through an application process, but will instead, with the support and advice of its partners be investing its limited resources in strategic areas of event development and support. The Commission is initially a three year project, during which time it will work with the region’s five major events of National and International importance:- the Bryn Terfel Faenol Festival, Anglesey Agricultural Show, Llangollen International Eisteddfod, the annual Summer Festival of Cricket and the Seniors and Challenge Tour of Ryder Cup Wales 2010. The Commission will also work in attracting events into the area as well as working with more regional events of strategic importance to its partners. StrategyAs part of its operational remit the Commission will: - Develop a support mechanism for event organisers in the area of health and safety in relation to the management of events
- Provide Business Development support and advice for event organisers
- Provide marketing support and advice for event organisers
- Create and develop a North West Wales events conference in partnership with the National Outdoor Events Association, to be held annually in October.
Develop and deliver a North West Wales Events Strategy. If you need any further information on the Commission, or if we can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact us.
